Full Truckload (FTL)

Reliable Full Truckload shipping services with direct routes and dedicated capacity.

Full Truckload (FTL) shipping moves your freight on a single, dedicated 53′ dry van from pickup to delivery with no transfers, no consolidation stops, and minimal dwell. When you have enough volume to fill (or nearly fill) a trailer, FTL is the most direct, fastest, and most damage-resistant way to move it across the United States.

When FTL Is the Right Mode

FTL is the right call when speed, security, and simplicity matter most. Common triggers include:

  • Six or more standard pallets, roughly 12+ linear feet of trailer, or shipments above ~10,000 lbs.
  • Time-sensitive orders where a multi-stop LTL network would miss a production or retail window.
  • Freight that cannot be stacked, shrink-wrapped together, or co-mingled with other shippers’ goods.
  • Dock-to-dock moves that benefit from a single driver and a single BOL.

For volume that does not justify a full trailer, our Less-Than-Truckload service shares capacity across multiple shippers at a lower price point.

Equipment and Capacity

Kargoza’s FTL fleet is built around 53′ dry van trailers, the standard for U.S. over-the-road freight, with capacity for roughly 26 standard pallets (45,000 lb GVW). For high-volume shippers, we also coordinate dedicated equipment and regional lanes that stay on a recurring route, eliminating empty miles and improving lane consistency.

Drop-Trailer and Drop-and-Hook Programs

For shippers with steady volume, drop-trailer (or “drop-and-hook”) programs place one or more trailers at your facility. You load on your schedule, and the driver swaps a fresh trailer on the next pickup. The result is zero detention charges, faster turns at the dock, and predictable transit times.

Coverage and Transit Times

Kargoza runs FTL across all 48 contiguous states, with the densest coverage along major corridors such as the I-95 Northeast run, the Chicago–Dallas lane, the LA-to-Bay-area corridor, and the Southeast manufacturing belt to the Mid-Atlantic. Most single-driver lanes under 800 miles deliver in 24-48 hours; coast-to-coast lanes typically run 3-5 days. For tighter windows we can dispatch expedited team drivers.

Lane Optimization and Continuous Moves

Recurring shippers benefit from lane analysis. We profile your origin-destination pairs, weight patterns, and delivery windows, then build a continuous move plan that minimizes empty miles, balances HOS compliance, and locks in capacity through spot-market swings. The output is stable pricing, prioritized dispatch during peak season, and a single point of contact who knows your freight.

Booking and Visibility

FTL quotes are based on equipment type, lane, weight, and accessorials (liftgate, inside delivery, hazmat). Once a load is dispatched, you receive the driver’s status updates, ETA refreshes, and POD delivery confirmation. For high-volume accounts we integrate via EDI or API so tender-to-invoice happens without manual rekeying.

When your freight needs a dedicated trailer, a fast lane, and a single driver from origin to destination, Full Truckload is the most efficient mode in the Kargoza network. Send your lane details and we will quote the equipment, the price, and the transit window that fits your shipment.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum shipment size for FTL?

There is no contractual minimum, but FTL pricing is most efficient at 12+ linear feet of trailer, roughly 6 pallets or 10,000 lbs. Smaller loads are usually better priced through our LTL service.

How fast can you dispatch a full truckload?

Same-day dispatch is available on most major lanes. For dedicated capacity or branded trailers, we typically need 24-72 hours to stage equipment.

Do you offer drop-and-hook for FTL?

Yes. Drop-trailer programs are available for shippers with steady volume and dedicated dock space, and they eliminate detention charges while speeding up turns.

Can you move temperature-sensitive freight in an FTL?

For non-perishable goods a dry van is appropriate. For temperature-controlled loads, see our refrigerated freight service.
